hi, well i'm in London, and there are a couple of reasons I know this (just incase i got on and off the wrong flight) * It's Grey * Mind the Gap * smelly people on the tube * Warm pints of beer * it's still grey!
But i have to say it's GREAT to be back.... It kind of feels like I haven't left (i left at the end of 2004) and i have to say that not much has changed. I even went to Shepherd's Bush yesterday arvo and saw my old house. It's still there - but i don't knkow anyone there anymore.... but the main road in SB hasn't changed much - there are still all the dodgy chicken take away shops and the internet place around the corner from the house. The only change i could really see is that the favoured watering hole for some of us in the house, The Slug and Lettuce, was gone. I was going to stop in there and pick up this weeks TNT (Aussie/NZ/SA mag) and have a pint, but i couldn't! So I had to go to the Walkabout instead, and yes my thongs got stuck to the floor - even at 4pm in the arvo!!!!!
So after some well earned sleep - I'm staying at the house of some friends who have been nice to open their door to me - and some clean clothes i plan on hittiing some of the shops today. I also want to see a few galleries while i'm here and maybe take a day trip somewhere.
I will also update you on the last day of NYC. I spent the saturday going to the Guggenheim which was good, saw a few cool works of art - but was a bit disappointed, i thought it would be a bit bigger inside, and they had a section closed for the installation of a new exhibition. And i missed seeing some of the permanent works as they didn't have them on show. then I got lost in Central Park - well not lost as such - just waked in the wrong direction for about half an hour - tring to find Strawberry Fields - the tribute to John Lennon. Then it was time for some more shopping - FAO Swartz the big toy shop with the piano you run on in the movie Big. and Tiffany's to buy the necklace i saw the other day! Then quiet night as i had a big travel day on the sunday/monday. NYC to Montreal to London in god knows how many hours.
So i will update you all again when I done some more in London.
