So I made it safely to San Fransisco!
We've been to so many places over the last few days.
The wedding was fantastic! The ceremony was a real one first then the Elvis portion. Elvis took a shine for one of the audience members and we thought it might be a double wedding! Then we headed in a stretch hummer back to the Bellagio for an amazing dinner (thanks Jaye and Alfonso!) where I caught the bouquet...
Then we headed out to Death Valley. I don't think I've ever been that hot in my life! We drove from Scotty's castle down to the Devils Golf Course and Badwater (named because an explorer couldn't get his mule to drink the 'bad water') which is the lowest point in the western hemisphere.
Driving out was scary high down steep winding hills and we then headed to yosemite national park.
The falls were less spectacular than the video we watched - mostly a trickle. But the hiking was great and the park is absolutely beautiful (not to mention much cooler!) It took us a while to find accommodation that night and we were going to sleep in the car until we found the Ruby Inn in Bridgeport where we had the best continental breakfast ever.
Then to Lake Tahoe - beautiful. We took a leisurely cruise around the Lake on the Tahoe Queen as narrated by Mark Twain (a strange man with hair painted white) and then to 'swim'... the water isn't much deeper than my knees for about a mile and then it gets deep really quickly. We tried to peddle a peddallo out to the deep water only to find we couldn't peddle it in against the waves...
Got sunburnt on my scalp and didn't feel so good. We stopped in Folsom for some factory outlet shopping (but no prison or Johnny Cash) and then to Sacramento. Visited the Old Town and did a tour of the State Capitol where we saw the Senate in session but no Arnie unfortunately.
After Sacramento we were excited by Wine Country only to be disappointed by a time share offer and a 2 hour search for accommodation. Wine Country redeemed itself with an awesome tour of 4 wineries in the area. I just wish they hadn't taken us to the best winery first because I definately didn't get enough wine from there!
Now we're in San Fransisco and about to get a guided tour from our friends Anna and Katie. We met them in Eastern Europe and they've been kind enough to put up with us and offer us Internet while we're here.
Can't believe I'm at the end of my trip!! Only 5 more days and I head back to the UK.
Wish you were here
