Auckland again (14th April - 3rd August 2007)
We got to Mike and Jo's and settled ourselves then went looking for a job and hey presto within days I had a job in Auckland hospital to take me up to when I leave and Pete got a temp job for a few weeks, so we started working and took on normal lives of work and on a weekend we would explore parts of Auckland, go for walks to see some great views of Auckland and general sightseeing. But we were living so far away? from our jobs and Pete got another job further away so we were getting up and getting home at silly o'clock and the petrol was just plain silly so we looked for a new place to stay, we looked at one place and it was like a squat, really it smelled like a sewer, but then we looked at Bamber house, which was one huge old house, clean and very nice inside and set up home! We are so close to town and look on to Auckland Skytower in a place called Mt Eden. We are within walking distance to town, all the shops, restaurants and bars. Most weekends we walk our weekly ritual to Newmarket, the posh end of town and pay for our flights or? walk to the top of Mt Eden, the park and surrounding walk is really nice and when you get to the top you can see the whole of Auckland, I didn't realise it was a volcano until I got to the top and saw 'please do not walk on the crater this is a sacred area' but people still body board to the centre, it's probably great fun but I don't own a body board. Apart from that we don't do much as were saving. But I'm sure when I get to the South I will have loads to tell ya.
Well folks, we are still in Auckland and have been here for many a weeks, my work is still as exciting as the day I came but atleast I don't get hassled! How ever I made a few calls home and work approached me and I denied it, I then ended up paying for the phone bill so if anyone is wondering why I have not phoned in a while this is why! I haven't even been near a cinema for ages but thanks to alpha we got a free trip to see Oceans 13. Apart from that we do have a stint occasionally in the local park when the kids go home! It so much fun for the pennyless and even those who have pennies! I also managed to see Faye in Auckland, we went for a drinkie on the Viaduct and it was great to see her even if funds were low!
We have also been to see Guns 'N Roses, it was brilliant even if the crowd there was rubbish. We got there for 8 and watched Rose tattoo and Sabastian Bach before they finally came on at 11.30, but it was worth the wait, it was 2 o'clock finish a bit late for the likes of me at the moment I'm like in bed by 10.30 on a weekend!
