Tsukiji Fish Market, Hamarikyuteien Garden and Akihabara!
Fish fish market was so cool. The tuna were huge, but I was impressed they use every part of the tuna (spine, scales, bones, the lot) so nothing is wasted. There was plenty being offered to trying, including octopus, tuna, seaweed, black beans, red beans, nuts, squid, all sorts, usually marinated in something. But they all tasted damned amazing!
The garden was next to the market but it was a totally different world to the city. Disputes being burned down, bombed in world war 2 and being passed through many Shoguns, it's kept to the original edo style layout. With a little tea house with tatami mats and green tea and sweets for sale so you can sit and drink in the peaceful garden. There were signs that explained how they used to lure ducks to them then use Falcons and nets to catch them. There were plum and cherry trees blooming through out which was beautiful. It was nice to find somewhere so quiet and peaceful in the mad world of Tokyo.
After walking around for sometime, we went to Akihabara! The anima area!
Stories of bookshops filled skyscrapers and there's arcades everywhere. I managed to find a manga called Gangsta for 200¥ and I've made it my mission to translate it into English!
Then we found @homecafe...the maid cafe. After a short queue your met by a young girl dressed up in a French maid outfit who has a very cheery attitude, she takes you to your seat and shows you the deals (me and Aaron went for the ¥1,600 option was was a drink, a desert (pancake bear!) and a photo with a maid of your choice! There is a sneaky admission fee of ¥600 you need to watch for.
It's all slightly surreal you can also pay more and play games with your maid. Certainly an experience!!
Headed back to the hostel after that, but by that time the weather was raining heavily so getting back and having a hot shower felt so good.
Tomorrow I think I might go Ueno!
Very awesome day!

Jess So you can basically pay the waitress to entertain you? Not sure it'd work in Britain - would result in the most resentful unenthusiastic board game playing ever. b**** PLAY SCRABBLE WITH ME
