PS.I enjoyed the E mail you forwarded to me, it must have given you a lot of satisfaction!!
Mum
Me again!! Still nothing from YHA. I will try and get onto it again tomorrow but it all takes so long, especially as the Ayatollah is in tomorrow. (That has nothing to do with my computer skills I just can't spell it, before all you clever clogses get on at me.) Have been trying to get your bits and pieces together for Nat on Wednesday, if there's anything else you'd better get thinking. Quite ironic, me searching TESCO for intensive after sun by L'oreal in a blue and white tube ( nothing specific mind you) while you're sunning yourself in TEXAS) something not quite right about that. Anyway I got everything on the list. Take care love, looking forward to hearing about the wedding. Loads of love Mum.

Hey Rose-mary and Paul!
Thank you for your message - glad the wedding went well. Send them my best wishes.
We've just been lying out by the pool, enjoying the sun. Looks like we might have finally shaken off the rain! About time too!
Look after ma for me xx

Nice to hear from you Robert and Leso...
Weather here's a bit better now. Austin was boiling yesterday and we went to an outdoor swimming pool which they fill with natural spring water. We went at 8pm - swimming in the dark is a very odd feeling! Now we're on Galveston Island on the Gulf coast of Texas...I didn't even realise Texas had a coast!
Anyway, we've just been and made a CD of some more photos - 700 of them to be precise! I'll get them online asap.
Miss you all xxx
Leso
Well Czyrko your journal does give interesting reading, I was supposed to be typing a letter for Wayno but I thought I would just take a glance to see what was going on....low and behold 45 minutes later I am still reading and not found anything rude yet!!! seems like you are having a fantastic adventure and what an opportunity - you certainly will have plenty to tell your grandchildren - within reason of course!
Tomorrow is Nikki and Dippy's wedding and all outfits are sorted and ready and we are looking forward to seeing Izzy in her first public performance (in more ways than one I'm sure!) Can't really see her looking angelic for long but I will try to capture it on camera even for only one second! Hopefully her Mother will stay sober for most of the day!
Hope the weather is better for you now and that things will warm up in Anna Maria Island for the big wedding - Nat is really looking forward to seeing you and I'm sure you will have loads more to tell her that is not going to be published for all of us to read!
Anyway, hello to all you subscribers - especially Jane (glad you enjoyed Guys & Dolls!) Keep up with the messages, it's so much better than the Argus!!! Keep on having a fab time 'Churks' and and all mothers would say....stay safe!
Leso xx

Hi Kate

Hello my lovelies
It's p!ssing down still in Austin - I am very angry!
Tomorrow we're going to Galveston, partly because they have a beach there, though frankly at this rate, I doubt we'll be sitting on it for long!
Brother - stop the sarcasm, it doesn't suit you.
Jools - I'll grow a beard like Bill Bryson if that helps. Tell Benyameen that they have a road named after him in Austin - I took a photo of the sign!
Mother - can't you read my writing? Glad you got the maps...there's more on the way!
Anyway, better go.
Miss you all loads xxx

Hello,
Just looked at the maps you sent. Mum was a bit confused what San Diego Two Hundred was and why you visited it. Also why there were animals on the map there. San Diego Zoo made alot more sense.
Just to show it runs in the family the order of your diary is confusing me. Can you get it right please or I will have to change the rating I gave your blog.
Jools
Hello all...and Kate ;-)!
I've been meaning to say for ages thanks for our postcard - we were chuffed when we received it. Nothing beats good old-fashioned post! Thanks for the Truprint link as well - I've finally been able to see all your photos, as this STA Travel thing baffles me when it comes to viewing photos!
All is well here, but work is boring and the dark nights are a bit depressing. Jams is coming down this weekend and staying Saturday night with us - he and Ben are going to book their skiing trip for next year...needless to say I'm staying at home where it's safe :-)
Nat - I'm very jealous of you going to Florida as well...not fair!
Jane - please don't encourage Kate to submit her journals for publication. I have enough nutters sending me their gems on a daily basis, although I do think the journal is cool and it would be good to have a British Bill Bryson!
Must love you and leave you now and get on with some work. Take care everyone and have fun in Texas Katie.
xx
By the way, Ben says hi and promises to post a message soon...hopeless boy!
ME
Now in Austin, Texas. Not half as mad as you might think.
Mum, thanks for the message. I'm glad you got the cards...think there's more lost in the post.
I have updated the journal a bit. I'm missing you all like mad and looking forward to seeing the Family Walker in Florida. Fingers crossed the weather get better! Think tomorrow we'll hit our 4000th mile, I guess our pre-departure estimate of 4000 miles in total was a bit conservative!
Love you all xx
Mum
I suppose I might get the reputation for being the very over bearing Mum now, having sent two messages in as many days. This is just a quickie so that everybody in our own personal chat room knows what a very thoughtful daughter I am lucky enough to have, and she'd better not think about staying away any longer than I've psychologically prepared for. Thanks so much for your postcards 96' on one and snow on the other how weird! Especially for the card to me, you should have been a writer you have the ability to make me cry in a sentence and that's not the one "HOW MUCH?" Seriously I think you should be setting up a publishing deal with Jools, your journal is so witty and easy to read. Be careful love look after yourself, love to Em, loads of love Mum. PS. I said hello to Nana for you.
