K+K Travel Adventures
Well, I headed to Portland, OR this weekend to see my boyfriend and was excited that he, like I, was eager to get away to the Oregon Coast.
We left in the morning and spent the hour long drive viewing tall oaks, mountain ranges, and fog covered valleys. We arrived in Seaside, OR (the beginning of our trip) to see an old vintage car show which was really quite amazing. After finding breakfast at an okay standard breakfast place we headed to the beach for a quick gaze and returned to our car.
We headed south on Pacific Coast Highway towards Cannon Beach, OR and were treated with wonderful views of the ocean. Once we arrived, we wandered around the beach of this quiet little town and enjoyed spectacular views of Haystack Rock and Castle Rock---they are these huge rocks that jutt off the shore. Finally, we ventured into the town for some gallary viewing and boardwalk shopping and eventually treated ourselves to the best tillanmook ice cream in the area.
Tired, we decided to head home and traveled along the highway for yet again some more spectacular views of the ocean. Eventually we found our way through Tillamook Bay and through the valleys of western Oregon back home.
But our trip did not end there. In Forest Grove, we spoiled ourselves at the McMennamin's grand lodge soaking pool......otherwise known as a giant hot tub nesteled beneath the bushes.
Finally. We are complete. With bellies warm and full we both head home in search of some much needed rest.
