Wow Bangkok, what a place, much nicer then we expected, seen as though we heard so many scary stories.
Only had 2 days there but packed in so much, fell in love with it.
Arrived at the hotel, treated like royalty (love it)
Had a wonder around, so much to see and do, loads of designer shops, Chloe, Armani, Cartier, Gucci, was really shocked, didn't expect it, walked in to Chloe then straight back out again!! Don't worry Mums, didn't stay there for long..
Had a Thai massage, felt we deserved it, a random, showed us to the place, got a bit scared, thought it might be something else... but was all good in the end. Well, until Laura got hit on by the Thai girls, think they are impressed with the blonde hair, got a bit too close for her liking, wondered why she kept speaking to me over the door throughout! Actually still wondering if Kat's could have been a 'LadyBoy'...
Visited the Red Light Distrist, loved ebery min, got invited in to a bar thought it night have been a two for one offer, shame it wasn't on drinks, nice figures though. Went to a show, what an eye opener....use your imaginations! Must have taken lots of practice!
Was going to have an early night but ended up in bed at 4am, unexpected but had a great night down Koa San Road, checking out the bars, clubs and drinking on the streets (Chavs), no really, it was just chilled out.
Day 2, did some proper serious cultural sight seeing, Laura was shocked how much she enjoyed it. Saw the big reclining Budda, and my god was it big, then had a walk around The Grand Palace, beautiful place, the Thai people were praying there in a certain building were you have to take off your shoes and dress covered up, a very respectable place, we were both shattered by this point walking around in the heat, so we went and sat down with them.
Took a boat along the largest river, to travel to our destinations, as we've said we both shattered, so realised at one point we had been in silence for about 20 minutes, ha ha! Also ventured on Tuk Tuk rides to get around a few times, crazy stuff, they drive like lunitics!
Decided to eat in China Town, not what we expected, was really looking forward to Sweet & sour, prawn Crackers and Egg fried rice, but when we got there the smell changed our minds. Went back to Siam and ate in a nice restaurant, and then ended up bartering whilst shopping and bought a couple of things - oops!
Got back late, was going to go out but our body wouldn't let us get ready and move any further. Actaully, quite happy we arrived back safely at the hotel though because if I left it to Laura, she found the overhead Metro train quite difficult and we'd have ended up in Vietnam!!! Got it on her last day, but shame it was too late.
Breakfast each morning was lovely, except Shephards pie, Masala, and Bolognese was NOT on our agender early hours in the morning so stuck to toast, cereal and the odd bit of fry up.
We are now hoping Pattaya is as much of a success....
