We are finally back on dry land after spending a few days at sea getting our advanced adventure diver certification! Now certified in underwater navigation, deep diving, night diving, underwater naturalist and photography! It was a gruelling experience with plenty of 5am starts but we survived and more importantly we can now dive to 30metres so we can visit some great dive sites down the coast and in New Zealand. I convinced Carl we needed masks so I have a pink snorkel set and he of course has manly black! Got to look cool when diving.
Whilst diving we visited some of the prettiest reefs you can ever imagine! We visited several coral stacks over the days including Briggs Reef, Moore Reef and Miln Reef (check them out on google earth!). We saw sharks, turtles, stingrays and so many tropical fish it was like falling into an aquarium, and a warm one at that! Carl was the offical Nemo spotter and found lots of clown fish scattered in the coral. We even did a night dive after dark and when you swam in the sea and disturbed the plankton it would glow! We have posted back an underwater dvd of us diving to Bridgend so look out for that in the post!
New hotel is lush and we dont want to leave but we pick up our camper van tomorrow so we are enjoying the luxuries before we hit the road! Our plan is to head to a place called Townsville via Mission Beach. We are checking out some more activities to do, Carl fancies jet boating and me being a bit of a nature freak fancies sea kayaking. Will let you know how things go.
Exchange rate still sucks.
Everyone take care and keep in touch. Miss you all, especially the kiddies, give H/F/E a big squeeze from us xxx
