Hello Komrades - Greetings from the Former Soviet Socialist Republik of Ukraina.
My invasion of the newly renamed Janikov website is taking place nicely. My hackers from the KGB are at this moment looking into dropping some pictures of grey walls, grey roofs and grey roads into the blogsite.
Komrades Rogerski, Frankski and Ms Michelski all fled the country this veekend - so I am just accompanied by my ladyfriend Wodyka. No wonder these commies pop their sox early - this stuff is good.
I will be looking much forward to making more acqauintances on the web with tractor loving westerners.

Janika
Hello Komrades - this is Janika, being challenged by the fellow socialist members of the former Soviet Republic of the Ukraina.
Well it pissed with rain here yesterday but the sun is shining again today and the temps are up there. Makes it kinda warm walking to work as its business suits all week - and high heels and skirts at weekends!
Big event this week - I got a big b******ing from my concierge - the dirty Kommie who lives in a squat at the foot of our stairs - because I entered the building whistling a tune. Apparently bad luck - judging by the screaming and swearing in Russian that I could not understand fully! If only those were his biggest worries in life he hasnt got that much to worry about!
The latest pics from Peru look pretty impressive and I am just so sorry that time is running out for you. You will just have to go faster or stay a wee bit longer... is your travel flexible? Make the most of it!
As for Ms Lonely Planet - well as I understand working her butt off at school this week - overseeing a Big Dig and surfing the net to find the deepest canyons (which are of course all under the oceans anyway). Mumsie is becoming very computer literate in her autumn years!
Vell Komrades must go bak to werk - it is soon to be 9am, then at 9pm ven ve exit the salt mines it vill be time for wodka again!! Litle surprise that on average Ukrainian men of my age are dead. Sad but true.

Quiz Master...
Close, but it´s not the one. I feel you gave up a little early there mummle!
We are going to Colca, the 2nd deepest canyon in the world, 3 times deeper than America´s Grand Canyon. But in actual fact, the deepest is about 200km further north than Colca, and it´s about 10m deeper or something silly. Ok, lesson over.
We are going to Machu Picchu tomorrow, a nice 5.30am start, yippee! Looking forward to it though. Cuzco is nice, we´ve enjoyed wandering around cobbled streets and inca walls, and supping coke´s on the lovely plaza in the warm sunshine, but time is a´tickin'! We take an overnight bus to Arequipa on Saturday night. If y'all don´t hear from us much after Sat, don't worry. We'll be racing to Lima via a couple of places against the clock - challenge aneka style! is that how you spell aneka??
Ciao for now!

Enjoy your weekend Lu, i hope the rain holds.

This one is for you kash and Nick
Apparently this guy Bingham aquired many artifects from Machu Picchu and took them back to Yale. After many negotiations returned some to Peru and are opening a museum and research centre in Cusco. It may be open by now.
I thing we should check out the museum at Yale when you get back and see what they have kept.
love you guys
can't wait to see you
xx

Lubles
Hi Marion! Don't be lonely!! Be thankful of some peace...have you some good books and good food? If so, you are in paradise in my opinion.
Congratulations to Andrew and Courtney on your wedding anniversary. I hope it isn't pissing it down in Scotland like it is here in Southampton...
I am taking Guy away on a surprise weekend on Saturday (til Tues) and guess what, after highs of 30 degress centigrade all week in the secret location (email me if you want to know), it is predicting rain this weekend! Fabulous. Love to all, especially all of you gutsy travellers. x

the Yarlung Tsangpo Canyon in Tibet is believed to be the deepest.

Kashnickov The Original Adventurers!
Father, you grow more inappropriate by the day. Thank goodness for the automatic censoring of your obscene language, you would never find me talking like that, potty mouth.
Glad you arrived safely, albeit very late. Don´t let the greyness get you down, work hard and finish early so you can come home sooner!
FYI...all of you...we are in Cusco now but we have to wait until Friday before we can visit Machu Picchu because of, yep, you guessed it, more strikes! And because we have 12 days left...make that nearer 11...we have to do it in 1 day and rush off to Arequipa to see the (2nd) deepest canyon in the world...what is the deepest? the first to answer correctly wins a prize. Anyway, i really can´t tell a story, we are seriously stressed about time and money so we're racking our brains as to how to tour a country 5 times the size of the UK in a week, answers for that would be welcome too!
OK, i´m waffling, it´s the stress.
LATERZZZZZZZ
p.s. A-hole, be careful, don´t go getting yourself arrested again!
