Hope you are all ok?
Well yesterday we went on our cruise over to Alcatraz at 9.30am weather was nice yesterday the sun was out. stayed on Alcatraz for a good couple of hours it was very interesting, we had an audio tour which took us around the main building telling us the stories of the two main escapes that happened and the main convicts. The island is beautiful and is now a National Park, we got some great pics of the city. it was good that we done the early cruise as by the time we were ready to come back it was heaving with people . After we arrived back we made our mission to Lombard Street which is the Crookiest street in San FRancisco due to the earthquake they had. we walked up the steepist hill ever, but we made it. (pictures will be coming shortly). after this we made our way back to the hostel to drop our bag off then headed down to China Town which is literally a 2 minute walk. They were celebrating there Chinese New Year and there were loads of stalls and music going on it was manic but an experience, we looked around Union square again and had our daily fix of Starbucks, we are now addicted best coffee and hot chocolate ever. at 6pm the Chinese New Year Parade started, put our carnivals to shame!! ha. it was absolutley manic never seen so many people, we couldnt get a very good view but we watched it on a hill by our hostel which was ok, it went on for a good few hours i think but we didnt watch it all. we then just chilled out in the hostel with a beer and some cards, while some nutters were playing the piano and bongo drums. managed to stay up til ten lastnite which was a record but really tiered. also just to let you know we are checking out of here on Monday to head down to LA we are either going to get the Greyhound down or the Amtrak (train) but will let you know, staying at HI Hostel Santa Monica. p.s mum and dad mac im surviving good without the cookies and milk cheetos are replacing them 5 packs now and counting hahax love ya lotsx
