so im back in sydney again! good to escape cairns finally! its an alright place but i worked some crazy hours for hardly any dosh! i worked 3 nights a week in a nightclub called soho which was cool, but definately not my usual sort of place, far too much dance music for my liking! brilliant place to work though cos we were encouraged to drink on the job which makes the night go so much faster! i also worked for my rent in a hostel which was a bit rubbish (3 hours a day for free!!) but i met so many people and ended up having a pretty good time up there. did some very random jobs too, i drove the bus, worked on the bar, worked in the bistro, swept a stupid amound of leaves, cleaned the common rooms and kitchen and even did a wee bit of gardening!! not jobs i want to do again anytime soon! in my last week in cairns i quit all the jobs and headed up to cape tribulation, it was so pretty up there and i saw some crocodiles and snakes and big spiders! got a tad bored of being in the middle of the rainforest so i went back down to cairns and did a brilliant trip around the tablelands by a company called uncle brians! very long day of seeing lots of pretty waterfalls and rivers and doind lots of swimming! played on a waterfall rock slide for ages, then went to a different lake where we swan under a massive waterfall. not as pleasant as it looks in the movies, its quite painfull having a load of water fall on your head from a great height!! the view lying on my back and looking up at it all flowing down was amazing though, possible worth the pain!! flew back down to sydney on the 21st and had a brilliant night out with everyone i knew when i was here before (going out for a couple a 10, turned into a drinking marathon til 7.30am, ouch!!) had a weird christmas day, ate dinner in the hostel then headed out to bondi to sit and drink some beer, really good day, but definately didnt feel like christmas!! went down to the botanical gardens for new year, queued for about an hour and a half just to get through the gates but it was worth it! got in about 3 and had a big picnic then sat around drinking far to much wine for the day! the fireworks over the harbour bridge and opera house were so amazing, im not even going to attempt to describe it! anyway, simons just bought a car, so a few of us are leaving this afternoon and going to spend a couple of days travelling down to melbourne. its gonna be good not taking the greyhound bus for a while!!
