K was up early again to feed the monks and then climbed a hill for views over the city (town) whilst A took the sensible route and had a leisurely breakfast.
Mainly a day of travelling. The only route into Myanmar (Burma) is via Bangkok, so had to fly South switch planes and fly North again. Arrived in Yangon (Rangoon) about 6.30 pm and then taken to our hotel where we had to give our agent all the spondoulics for the rest of the trip. There are no ATM's in Myanmar and our banks will not let us wire money, so the agency had booked everything for us on trust, and we have been travelling through South East Asia with thousands of $US which is what they will only deal with. Not only that but they have to be brand spanking new with no creases or stains on them.
Arranged for a 4am wake up call because our flight to Mandalay leaves at 6.55am and we have to get back to the airport. Reception asked if we wanted a breakfast box - we said yes expecting to pick it up in the morning - 20 mins later there is a knock on the door and a guy delivers 4 hard boiled eggs, 2 rounds of bread and jam and a flask of coffee. We're sat in our room at 8 pm wondering what they'll taste like in the morning!
