My boyfriends cousin Brad plays hockey out of Osoyoos, BC. He is playing two road games this weekend. One in Castlegar, BC and the other in Nelson, BC.
Since Justin and I both have the weekend off we decided to call Ray(Brads dad) up and see if he wanted to watch a couple of his games. So we left on Friday morning at about 9am. Picked up Ray, picked up Timmie's and we were on our way to Castlegar.
It was a nice drive on highway 3, drove through Fernie and Creston. I woke up that morning with quite the head cold. But that didn't stop me ;) We made a couple of stops to get gas and munchies. At about 7 hours in and only an hour or so away from Castlegar, you have to drive up a mountain and back down. It was horrible. Your head is all hollow because your ears won't pop for a good 40 mins. My ears were killing me. Chewing gum didn't even help. I dread driving that way on the way home.
We made it to Castlegar at about 330pm (430 Calgary time). We stopped at shoppers to pick me up some medicine. We checked into the Sandman Hotel where we would call home for the following two nights. Brought our bags to room 242. Than we left to Boston pizza for dinner before brads game. I had hot wings which I didn't eat it all cause I didn't have much of an appetite cause of my head cold. Than we made a pitstop at Timmie's to grab some hot beverages.
After we got our coffees we Drove over to the arena and paid $10 to watch brads game. Justin bought me a puck so I could throw it on the ice and hopefully win money - no luck. It was a bit chilly of course in the arena, fortunately they had heaters. Brad got an assist and one penalty in the game. It was Castlegar rebels vs Osoyoos coyotes. The visit team won the game 6-3. Yaay Brads team!!
