When we first arrived in Kuala Lumpur we were lost. The bus dropped us off in a random part of the city and we spent an hour walking in the heat with our rucksacks trying to find Chinatown. Eventually we got there and checked in to a hostel. We got there late and spent the rest of the day wandering around the market, got some food at a street stall and people watched for a bit. In our dorm we had a crazy person, now we've been pretty lucky since Hong Kong, but this guy was weird. He spoke very little English and put stickers all over our stuff while we were out, he wrote on my book and wore and slept in the same clothes for the 3 days we were in KL. It's just him and a girl in the dorm tonight- i'm a little worried for her!
On our full day in KL we started off in a shopping mall, trying to find some bargains, but didn't come out with too much. I prefer the markets where you can barter a lot more! We walked over to have a look at the Petronus Towers- the world's largest twin towers and until 2004 the tallest building in the world, fun fact there- and the KL tower, that one wasn't very interesting. We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean at the cinema for only £2.40 and popcorn was under £1! The film was pretty good but they don't have the same kind of cinema etiquette out here as they do back home. A couple behind us were talking really loudly for the whole thing, then the guy's phone started ringing so he had a nice old conversation in the middle of the film!
This morning has just been spent chilling around the hostel, we did go to Nandos for lunch though! Now its time to leave to catch our flight to Jakarta, Indonesia.
