K8y's Adventures...
Hey everyone, thanks for all your messages :) Thought I better write a quick entry as I'm off to Namibia tomorrow and won't be back until the 26th june and then in no time i'll be home and it would pointless to write about being here, when i'll be at home with all of you...ahhh :D! Tomorrow I will have been here two months so i think it's just about time to write a little bit of what I've been up to! Highlights have been the wine tour, visiting the beautiful estates around this area, and ofcourse the tasting wasn't too bad either!! You can see in some of the pictures we had white dots painted on our faces, traditional to i think it's the zulu people, but that's a guess!! I've been having a fantastic time teaching the arts and culture class at the Primary school, check out their animal masks in the pictures, although they ended up being more like hats, as they don't fit over their faces, but never mind!! They also wrote poems, and we put together a performance with dance, and drum beats, and a lil bit of a sing-song to Okunah Matatah!! Got to love it! What else, oh yes...my little wormy! Caught ringworm off one of the children at Macassar Haven! (a safe home for abused/neglected children) and as i didn't know what it was itched it and put a plaster over it to stop me itching it, both of which caused it to get bigger and spread-whoops!!! I've been doing quite a lot of film watching as it only costs a pound to watch a film here!! Two favourites have been Tsotsi and Da Vinci Code! Must-sees I say! And ofcourse going out dancing til the early hours on a few occassions, tehe! Also met a famous south african 'rock-star', obviously didn't believe him when he said he was famous, but changed our minds when we saw him on MTV the next day!! Also went to a club in Cape Town, where the director of a film Leonardo Di Caprio is starring in was holding a private function, so he was very likely to have been in there! :) Also have had my first Braii-that's a bbq to you and me, was soooo tasty! was full for at least a day!-although ofcourse Crissie the steak didn't compare to your dad's!! And that's about it really, can't believe these are my last few days in Stellenbosch, it has gone by so quickly. In two minds as to whether I want to leave this place or not, it doesn't help at the moment that it is beautiful weather, although I know you're having your fair-share at home! Not looking forward to having to take more than 4 pounds out on a night out-although I find it hard even to spend that much!!! But ofcourse can't wait to see everyone again and have a few home comforts back again, like a bed you can't put a full mug of tea on(like a table!), and a pillow a bit thicker than a jumper!! Although for the next 12 days or so, I'm going to be in a tent, in the freezing cold dessert/national park/beach resort! So i guess i've experienced nothing yet! Anyways, I better wrap this up, gota go pack for Namibia! Take Care and Speak/See you all soon! Lots of Love K8y xxxx
