hola
quick update, although annoyed my photo uploader isn´t working so you´ll have to imagine the things i´m talking about!
got a night bus from la paz to uyuni as the truck was taking ages to fix, and i swear to god it was the most luxurious bus iride i have ever been on!! given a hot meal, water, coffee, blanket, so much leg room i actually couldn´t reach the little bar to put your fdeet on! left la paz around 9 and arrived about 7 the following morning, however with all that comfort actually didn´t get much sleep....SO bumpy! had chance to get some breakfast then left for the salt pans about 10. the jeeps could only fit 7 and there were 9 of us so louise and i went in the second one...however this then meant that we were with 2 italiens aa german and a canadian...which it was actually nice to meet and spend some time with some other people......we hardly saw the others the whole 3 days.
salt flats were amazing, literally walking over salt crystals, and bright white ground with bright blue cloudless skies, however pretty windy so quite chilly. then went to a famous island in the afternoon, followed aby a trip to the salt hotel,. where we stayed over night...basically the bricfks are made of salt...we licked them to check!!
foloowind day up at 6 and visited some laguna with hundreds of flamingo´s....stunning...and got some cool photo´s so hope to get them up soon.stayed in a dingy cold little refuge the following night with all 6 of us in one room, and no sign of the others from overland...unlike the previous night where at least we´d stayed in the same place. llama for tea, which was nicer than al paca, then up at 5 the 3rd day to visit some geysers which were really cool, but sulphur smell was pretty herendous...again some good pics which proof how amazing it was, especially just after sunrise. geologists dream trip...sad i know! also saw loads of volcan´s and stunning rock formations. ended the trip back uyuniand not feeling too hot, think i had a dodgy bit of scrambled egg, so trip to tupiza was a bit of a nightmare on a crammed bus but hey ho we survived. met up with the truck in tupiza and everyone else...however minus emma as she decided she didn´t want to carry on the trip and refused to leave uyuni, disappointing but obviously her choice.
bush camped in bolivia the night before last then arrived in salta yesterday which is the most civilised place we´ve been to yet, loads of shops and the most amazing steak i have ever had in my entire life! the rumours about argentinian steak are true!!
had a bit of a wander around the town this morning now off to do a bit of shopping!! leave for san pedro, chile tomorrow then get to santaigo on something like the 19th december
hope all are well
keep the messages coming
speak soon
