After a really good sleep I woke-up at about 7am - somewhere in the North of Argentina and was able to enjoy my breakfast whilst watching the sun slowly creep up over the land. I then nodded back off to sleep and was only woken at our next rest stop - 3 hours down the road. At around 1am we made it to Boarder controls and surprisingly there were no lines and it didn't take to long for everyone to get through. By 2pm we arrived in Foz do Iguacu Brazil; first impressions - very green, people are more ethnic and it feels as if we have been dropped into the heart of a jungle. I had over an hour to wait for my host Sheila to come collect me so I walked around trying to find a supermarket to buy some lunch but unfortunately I had no luck. It has become very obvious that I am going to struggle to communicate here as their language (Portuguese) is not even close to Spanish. At around 3:30pm Sheila came and picked me up and as I had expected Sheila was lovely and so I am sure next week staying with her will be great. We stopped at the bank so I could take out some Brazilian currency and then went to the supermarket. The supermarket was very interesting but I didn't want to hold Sheila up so I just grabbed a few things for the next few days and then we headed out to Sheila's house. Sheila's house is her old family home and is very spacious and with a very nice homely feel, she has 3 dogs and 3 cats that run the place absolutely wild. We sat and had a cup of tea and an interesting chat before I took the chance to do a quick yoga workout as my body was very soar from the long bus trip. Around dinner time I met the two other Couchsurfers who were supposed to of left today but are now staying two more days: Jake (American) & Daniella (Brazilian). We all sat around chatting about our travels, lives and I got some great info on things to do in Foz and Brazil. Around 8:30pm everyone decided to order Arabic food which included kebabs, hummus, bubba ganash, kefter and pita bread - I decided I would just make myself an omelette as the next few days are going to be very expensive with visiting both sides of the falls. We all chatted a bit more and then I organized to go with Jake and Daniella at around 8am out to the park. Today felt like I was thrown back into the traveling life after somewhat of a break in Argentina; things went wrong, it was uncomfortable, I missed lunch and I was forced to adapt to new situations - sounds like life and this is why I do what I do.
