the train ride from nice to monte carlo took only 20 minutes or so, but it feels like we are in a completly different world. i believe monaco is the second smallest country in the world next to vatican city, and it is pretty hard to believe it is a country.
monte carlo is rediculuous though. it is perfectly placed in the mountains and right on the ocean. this place is so luxurious it almost seems like it isnt real. there is no pollution at all, everything is perfectly landscaped and beautiful. the streets are lined with high end stores, and the cars and boats are insane. we were walking around the port and we noticed that there were a string of four or five boats in a row that all had hot tubs on their decks. the cars here are like nothing i have ever seen. there are ferraris, lamborghinis, porche, rolls royces, and bentleys everywhere. at one point we just sat outside the monte carlo casino and just looked at all the cars pulling up and leaving for about an hour. the coolest car i saw was probably a rolls royce phantom two door drop top. it was all white and had suicide doors and was just beautiful. we were going to go in the casino but we dont have the money to gamble and it cost 10 euros to enter. we settled for just walking around and staring in amazement at just how ritzy this place was.
