Why are you going to Portugal?

Our family (the Carvalho's) is Portuguese. Specifically from Terceira in the Azores, as well as some relatives from Sao Jorge. The trip was planned as a college graduation celebration for Julie, and it has taken a little while to pull together and go!

How long will you be gone?

We will be gone two weeks. January 19-February 2.

Who is going on this trip?

How will you be getting around?

We will fly into Lisbon and rent a car. From there, we will drive around the mainland, visiting Nazare, Porto, Coimbra, Duoro, and the Algarve. We will return to Lisbon and take a 2 hour flight to Sao Miguel in the Azores, spending two nights there. We will then fly back to Lisbon, and likely use public methods of transportation to see Lisbon and surrounding cities.

What is the temperature like in Portugal?

In January, the temp tends to be in the 50's, perhaps 60's, both in the Azores and on the mainland.
