The next day I headed down to the riverside and caught a longtail boat to go to Railey Beach which is one of the nicest beaches Krabi has to offer. There are 2 beaches, East and West, I had heard West was the nicest so I walked the 5 minutes down the path, through the big fancy resort, and onto the beach. It was stunning, gorgeous white sand, blue sea and huge limestone rocks on either side. Immediately I noticed that it was alot hotter here than in Koh Tao and the sun alot stronger. Railey Beach is mainly made up of huge holiday resorts and then a few cheaper, backpacker bungalows. It was a lovely place, definatley a good holiday spot as it was a bit more expensive for food and drinks so not great on a traveller budget. I bought a few things from the minimart and had a little picnic on the beach. After the day spent swimming, reading and sunbathing, I headed back for the last boat and managed to catch sunset as we sailed back which was pretty impressive as it set behind us over the sea. That evening was another trip to the night market for a lovely meal and a bit of shopping which was a mistake as I bought some pairs of knickers that were size: small, but they mean 'Thai small' . Oh my god they won't even go over 1 leg never mind my backside, a five year old couldn't even fit in them! The next day when I checked out I noticed the girl behind reception was the usual, annoying size 0 so I thanked them for my stay, gave them back the key and handed over the knickers. She looked quite please, well she should be, there was a few pairs of copy Calvin Kleins in there!
Anyway, off to Koh Lanta today, wasn't part of the plan but I'm meeting Jaime and Stacey there so should be a laugh. Now I just need to get another boat........
Lots of love Jules x x x
