As I entered Poland I was pleased to see how nice the roads were so smooth and easy riding. I had to stop and change the sat nav back to TomTom and the Eastern Europe map, and then wait for it to wake up and plot my route back to Krakow. I set off in 1 direction, then it told me to turn around, so I headed off back in the other direction, then it changed it's mind again, so to any onlooker they either think there are a lot of fatties on dirty yellow BMW's riding around, or 1 stupid one who has no idea where he is going.
Anyway, back on the road in the right direction, heading back trough all the towns that were gridlocked only days ago, but were free of the heavy traffic, so I sailed through, except for the returning problem with my bike cutting out again. I have a feeling my bike doesn't like the far east of Poland.
The ride was pretty uneventful but seriously hot. The dials on my bike were showing 30 degrees Celsius and the road signs were showing even hotter. I was drenched with sweat, stopping occasionally removing my jacket, turning it inside out and drying it and myself in the sun for 10 minutes.
I arrived in Krakow at my hotel and 1:30 pm, then sat on the floor for half an hour until I cooled down, had a shower and waited for Amanda to call.
At about 5:30 I received the call, went to reception, found out where the train station was and walked in the heat to meet her. We over indulged at dinner, but thought I had a couple of days to get over the hangover so would just throw caution to the wind.
