Today was fantastic. We arrived at the site to find that 2 teams had been there ahead of us so the gutting was already done as well as part of the front facade. My first job was working with 3 teams mates to move 6 skids of clay roof tiles from the front to back and then hand them up to the roof team. Took 3 hours. At the same time another team worked in a line to take water out of the septic which had previously been finished but 2 days of rain filled both with water. Picture will be in the photo album. Then me and one of the guys hand mixed the parging (thin cement with adhesive ) and did an exterior wall. New skill! Stood on a scaffold (1st time ), used a hand tray and trowel and then a long board to level. Really tough work but I loved it. So much more but I am really tired, it's midnight and we head out at 730 so will have a better update tomorrow. One thing I have learned, team work in physical labour like this is so important and we all bonded faster than I have ever experienced. Pretty cool. Check out the few pictures but I will have more interesting ones tomorrow.
