Today was the last day for Felix, Sandra and Remmy so the day was split into two. We went out at 9 and came back at noon, then with the new guests - 6 Americans and 2 older Swiss Germans we set off again just after 3pm returning just before 6pm, with a late supper at 7.30pm.
With all the berries out the bears are harder to find as they are in the bushes feasting but we still found them.
While having breakfast John spotted one on the beach - it looked like the teenager from the other night. While out we saw two, the first was on the edge of a beach, mock charged the boat and scampered off. The second was a big old scarred male with distinctive blonde ears eating the berries - he then swam across a large expanse of water before getting out walking along the beach eating when he found a berry patch and scenting as he went - clearly ensuring his presence was left for others to smell. We even watched as he stood on his hind legs to rub on a tree.
Our other sighting was of 2 fox cubs sitting on the rocks as we left our mooring.
During the lunch interlude I sent a couple of emails via the satellite system - slow but it worked eventually.
In the afternoon we left with the Swiss German couple and Chris - we had a distant sighting of two bears meeting - they must have been two siblings, now on their own, as it was a friendly meeting and they stayed together. We then had a lovely close view of a bald eagle and I actually got some good inflight pictures - the first ones were more of an in flight jump as it went to a lower position on the rocks. Our last find was a lovely blonde teenage bear (today's photo) who we watched walking, eating grass and then amazingly climbing a tree and making lots of noise in the undergrowth. As it got used to us and we had our engines off it relaxed and walked quite close to us. Sadly for the other boat it disappeared just as they arrived.
Over dinner one of the Americans congratulated us on our new Prime Minister - Theresa May! I checked the internet and lo and behold it was right - Andrea Ledson had dropped out of the race! You are out of circulation for 4 days and the world changes. I also confirmed Portugal won the European Cup - amazing considering they finished third in their group, didn't look like scoring against France while we watched and lost Renaldo through injury - the time of the underdog is now!
