I arrived in Vienna this afternoon after a few crazy days in Prague and almost missing my train. It took me a little while to get my bearings when I first arrived. The train went to some smaller station on the edge of town and I only had directions from the main one. Tough start but I figured it out. I feel like I've been traveling now for months but it's only been about 2 weeks. It definitely becomes easier as time goes on. At first, I was really nervous about getting off the train in some new country without understanding the language and almost no idea where to go. Now it's becoming sorta fun. Still miss everyone back home and can't wait to see everyone again.
I spent most of my time in Prague walking around the city and just taking it in. I made it out to the zoo one day which was really relaxing...so nice to escape all the tourists and crowds for an afternoon. There was a huge park and river by the zoo so I spent most of my afternoon hanging out there. Yesterday, I walked up to the huge castle...such a workout. I thought it be a good idea to wear jeans when it's 90 degrees outside...not recommended.
While I was in Prague I got arrested by some crazy Aussies, ticketed for not having my Hungarian student ID card, got fined in Yen, convinced some Americans I'm Australian, and scared the crap out of a taxi driver. Good fun. We'll see what Vienna holds. For now, I'm off to find some dinner. Hope everyone is well and safe back home. J
