On way now to lighting ridge crossed darling and barwin river as river changes names three time . Went through The fish trap which are 40000 years old at Barramma the town is also boarded up. All the town we stayed in have had late 1900 century architure and built for Australian conditions have been so different from European. No rain since Rutherglen. Driving along we always have our headlights on and we wave to all other caravans sometime stopping to check they are alright, we do pass road trains which have more trailers than one and the further north we come the larger the trucks will be. Also their is intermittent caravans. Arrived at 1.30pm was one of our longest drive just over 4.00 and 400ks parked at local pub as had a park behind paid for two nights and third night free cost 56.00 total. Also given two vouchers of 5.00 each for booze. We then changed into our swimmers and went the the Artesian Bore which was free provided by the local council. the water used to come out of the ground at 20 litres a second but the council had placed pipes and now comes out at 1 litre per second. 39 degrees the rich mineral waters are said to have therapeutic benefits stayed about 1 hour. Went back home and pub and Great Chinese meal, have enough left overs for two days. Was tired so went home to bed and Peter had last drink with the man next door. The weather in the summer tops over 50 degrees and some people live underground but many leave for colder climates.
