We are in Te Anau which is a nice quiet place.
We went to see the gloworms in the caves which was really good. We took a boat over to the caves and got a guided walk through the caves which were really lovely, with water falls inside. We then got on a small boat in the cave and it was pitch black and the guide had the pull the boat along. As it was so dark you could see the gloworms really well.
The following day we went to Milford Sound which was amazing. Its a beautiful drive out to milford along the scenic highway. We took a boat cruse into milford sound as its the best way to view it. It was a small boat called 'encounter' which took you very close to the egdes of the mountains. Lots of dolphins swam along side the boat which was really good to watch. The boat stopped and the dolphins were showing off jumping in the air. We also saw a fur seal in the water which had just caught a huge fish and was trying to eat it but it was too big for him to carry, was funny to watch.
The highlight of the boat journey for me was when the boat went through a huge water fall! You could stand outside - as I did - at the front of the boat and get completely soaked as it went through the huge waterfall!
It was absolutely freezing!
We were lucky with the weather and it was sunny, and it normally rains in Milford as its one of new zealands wettest places. Even though it was sunny it was still really really cold!
Tomarrow we are off to Queenstown which should be lots of fun
