Hi all,
Just an update on what we have been up to.
After leaving Wellington we headed to Taupo, which is the start of the volcanic region, I really liked Taupo as there was lots to do etc.
We did lots of things here including the craters of the moon which was excellent, it is a heathland landscape with hot steam rising from the grounds, releasing pressure from the underground. First of all it looked like Canford Heath was on fire and you just sore smoke, but actually walking around it was more impressive.
James also skydived, I had a cold and so just watched him fall from the sky, it was amazing to watch as i saw when they opened the parachute (thank god!) and just glided back to the ground.
After Taupo we headed up to Rotaroa, which again i really love. However it smells really bad here, its a geothermal area and sulfer is being released from underground so it always smells of rotten eggs!
We went to Wai-to-pu geothermal wonderland today which was really amazing, it had big boiling pools of mud, and gysers, and this lake that was illuminious yellow and green called 'devils bath'. Really great to walk around
yesterday we went to paradise valley where James and I got the opportunity to play with lion cubs!!! yes you read that correctly lion cubs
it was one of the greatest things ive ever done, these two cubs were only 3 months old and so were up to mischeif and trying to nibble you, haa haa. I got this toy which was attached to a long piece of string and ran around the enclosure with it while the cubs chased after the toy trying to grab it, it was amazing. We got to pat the lions and we took soo many photos and even some videos of our time there as it was such an experiance.
Thats all for the moment, only 2 weeks left of New Zealand so we are just enjoying the time we have left.
