Oh and I forgot to mention my near death experience. When I hired the bicycle, I was quite nervous as I have only been cycling twice in recent memory (once in San Francisco and once on Rottnest Island two years ago). Danish law doesn't require helmets so the bike hire place doesn't feel the need to stock them, which made me even more nervous. The guy seemed to find this quite amusing and assured me that everything would be fine and sent me on my way with my bike. I managed to get around one singular corner and to the first main road before the chain on the bike broke and I nearly got run over on H.C. Anderson Way (I wonder who that's named after...). Fortunently, Copenhagen is very bike friendly and I didn't even get honked for swerving in front of a car and nearly dying. I then walked the bike back to the guy in the bike shop who was very apologetic and got me a much better bike...
