when i was in Kenya i witnessed a lot of animal cruelty.
donkeys being whipped until they bled.
Worked so hard under the blistering heat, up steep hills with no water and gasping for air.
Young baby cows being whipped for no reason as their owner slowly strolls next to them.
Their owners are holding them with rope as they slowly escort them. Whipping them as they go, like kicking a stone to pass the time.
Friendly, intelligent and lonely dogs are tied up all their lives, forgotten about for days and often stoned if walking on the path.
I was told it was African culture.
But it used to be English culture before laws were made and enforced.
I think these poor animals have as much rights as the people who own them.
They deserve as much help as any person living in poverty.
i think we can help by educating the owners on animal rights.
As many Kenyans i spoke to did not think animals had feelings and emotions
