First two weeks
Port Elizabeth, South Africa
Hi all!
Starting my third week here in Port Elizabeth, I've already experienced so much, so far the weather has been great and I'm managing not to get burnt. The food is good but one thing I am looking forward to when I am home is a good cup of coffee!
So far I have been visiting a couple schools per day, coaching Rugby and Football. I am now even getting to take some lessons with the kids, teaching them English and Maths, which I am looking forward to as well as it is all adding to the experience.
As for weekends we have had a choice of activities. So far I have been to St jeffreys bay, where we did Sand Dune Boarding which was a lot of fun, something which I hope to do again before we leave. As for St Jeffrey's Bay as a place to stay; the views were amazing and the beach was right on our door step, which allowed me to top up my tan and relax for a day. Then this weekend just gone I went go karting which was a lot of fun, and then went on to do a little bit of shopping, followed by an evening quiz night.
When we are not coaching we are going out as a group to explore and having a look around the shopping centre near by. We do a lot in the evenings such as quiz nights, table tennis tournaments and just general group activities as we are all keen on getting to know one another better during these 12 weeks, to work well as a team.
So this has been the first couple weeks, and as you can see we are all being kept busy and having an amazing time... SAFARI this weekend! Will take lots of pictures to show you all on the next entry!
TTFN!
