Hello!
hmm so cant remember what i wrote in the last one so i'll just summarize my time in sydney lol
first thing - what a horrible thing jet lag is!!time is moving very strangely, i still have to think long and hard about even what day it is and how long i've been here!!i feel like i've tried to do lots of things but not done enough!so tursday when i got here was a write off - wanted to go to bed at lunch time but managed to say awake...went down to the beach and met my roomies. friday i took myself into sydney to see the opera house - had a guided tour - wow what a place!oh to play in there would be incredible! aso went to the aquarium (think i have told you about this actually oops sorry!) then firday night went out to a bar and club and got far too drunk on i think it was maybe 2 glasses of wine lol blamed it on the jet lag and complete lack of food for about 3 days! met a few interesting people that night i can tell ya!few greasy turkish type men too (remember guys like that jess, caz?!L.O.L) Saturday it rained a lot in the morning (i can feel your smiles and laughs) but still managed a couple of hours on the beach in the afternoon - the rain was actually lovely an cooling! that day the waves on bondi were HUGE, everyonewas talking about them that evening. in the evening a few of us from the hostel went in to the city where there was a free music festival - that was so cool the streets were packed with people, the best bits being the salsa stage and dance/trance stages with everyone dancing in the streets, people sitting on top of phone boxes, people trying to climb trees etc. we got the best view thoug - managed to find a bench, so we stood on that and had a great view!! then we headed to the main event - brian wilson - absolute ledgend - from the Beach Boys - played from 9 til 11, mammoth set, everyone was given blue flashing lights and everyone aged from 6 to 99 was up on their feet doing stupid dancing to classics like surfin usa and i get around lol that was so much fun!
so yesterday i got fried...went for a looooooong walk to a place called coogie, stopping of at some cute little beaches my favourite being one that had a natural sheltered bathing bit in that was created from the rocks - acting as a natural barrier from the waves. loads of the beaches have 'iceberg' pools at one end - that are basically filled by the waves crashign over the sides, but as its sea water they dont look the cleanest of places... and today i went to a place called manlywhich is meant to be very nice, but dont think i appreciated it cos i had to stay off the beach in the shade :( but somehow i STILL caught more sun! nightmare!!got a nice hat now though, so beach time will be more shady from now on :)
right so tomorrow i'm off on my surf trip up to byron bay by friday - very excited about that!gotta get up stupidly early though. will be great to have everyone probably in the same beginner boat, and probably people taht all dont know each other too so it's gonna be surfing and chilling all day and partying on the beach at night! very much hoping that there is no camping night though, i am slightly terrified of waking up in a tent with enormous/deadly spiders staring down at me from the top of my tent...i may opt to sleep on the luxury coach we are meant to be having!lol ah so this seems to have turned into a mammoth blog entry, hope havent bored anyone, but if anyone remembers my mexico updates, i tend to ramble on i'm afraid!
so i hope everyone is well and not to cold and wet back home? (wish i could send you some of the heat being produced by my shoulders right now...) thank you for your messages ove hearing from you! lots of love xxxxx
