Hi guys how you doing. Firstly i need to apologise, well not apologise but just admit that i cocked up big time. I left my photos, made on cd an hour before, on a bus. I had already formatted my camera so unless the bus company emails me telling me they have found the cds, then I have lost all my pictures and videos from thailand to Brisbane. They, therefore, wont be going on the website................. s***. Apart from that, I have had such a good time recently. Last time I wrote to you we were in Hervey bay, about to go to Frazier I think. It was incredible, we had to drive by 4x4, but the time we had there was so good. The lake we first visited, Lake Mckenzie, was amazing, so fresh you could drink the water, it tasted like bottled water. It was clear for about 25 metres. Unfortunately we got chucked out of our camp on Frazier for a mistake, I was to blame. Ill explain to you if you want but not on here. There was loads on Frazier though, a river that you could float down, it was quite cold but was really nice, another fresh water lake where you swam with turtles, although they dissapeared if you got close. The best place was probably on the last day, Lake Wabi, where you have to walk about 2 km first, over a sand dune, it feels and looks like you are in the desert. Then when you are thinking where the hell is it you see this lake which is so amazing. It its surrounded by sand and it is so perfect. There are huge cat fish swimming in it which are harmless and I just cant describe how nice it is.
After Hervey Bay we went to Brisbane for the day, where we bought a few clothes. I bought some boardies which i left hanging up in our dorm once we left Byron, again s***, (luckily they were only 8 pounds) but still annoying. So Brisbane was good, got some Cds made, which Ive lost, lol, not too hot an entry this one, and then we got on a bus to the infamous Byron Bay. Once we got off the bus, our mates jumped us, it was so cool to see them all again. It was a complete surprise that Tom was there cos we thought that he had moved on, but him and 2 mates were there as well as Amy and Alice. We went to a club called Cheeky Monkeys which was awesome, dancing on tables, obviously we slapped some goon (REALLY cheap wine) before hand. The next day we went for a surf which was fun, except I think, or would like, to get a few more lessons to make it really easy. Byron was amazing though, its so chilled out, the beach is really nice but it is more the atmosphere created by everyone there. I thinik the fumes from Nimbin (renowned for drugs) float over and chill everyone out.lol. We had a guy called Tacker in our room from Japan and he certainly enjoyed a spliff or 2. The next day we got a German girl in our room called Julie and 2 canadian girls. We thought they were all innocent but both morning we woke up with the German in our room, she had a different guy with her!! We didn't particularly do much in Byron, just chilled out, soaked up the atmosphere and cooked some feasts, Sara and I made a drunken ramble to the lighthouse, about an hour there and back, which took so very long to do, but was worth doing. The next morning we left..... my boardies in the room, and also the hostel. On the bus I reminisced of the good times I had had in my shorts, both times I wore them. I saw them in the shop again in Coffs, where we are now, and I am tempted to see if i can bond with a new pair as i did with the old ones. What should I do?? In coffs now, which is nice but reasonably quiet, we just walked around, went into Warehouse 'where everyone gets a bargain' and then ate our lunch on the jetty, which, after byron, was really quiet. We go to Sydney tonight on an overnight train.xxx
