Hello again, long time no speak hehe
As I am sure you will know from the above picture, this is the famous Bellagio fountains with the casino in the background; I have taken my own pictures of these fountains.
Tuesday 8th June - I awoke at a good time but after coming down to the common room, I noticed that there was very little food that appealed to me. I had to do some laundry today as I have no underwear nor fresh t-shirts to wear, except my NY 1 (the 1 with the twin towers on). After putting them in the washing machine, I was told no occupant washing until after 1700 which seems rather odd; imagine the number of people who shall attempt to wash at that time and beyond is going to cause an almighty backlog. Even then, I wasn't made aware that this was the case. As of yet, I am still unsure whether my washing has been done - shall go check shortly. I popped to Subway for br/lunch and had a short walk afterwards and saw some mountains in the distance with snow on top. I wish to go and take some pictures shortly and visit the Olympic Sculpture Park but I require a shower first to freshen up. The printer here is playing up as well, I have just received my STA Itinerary (new version) so at least I have that. Depending on what time I manage to leave the hostel later on, I shall either have free food here or go somewhere cheap for a meal. I am finally getting comfortable with going into a restaurant on my own and eating well rather than this fast food business. Today has been rather a lazy day through no fault on my own.
That fleece I was going to throw away; I am sure glad I didn't, I have lost count how many times that proved useful. I have thrown away my golfing waterproof as it reeked of smoke from around the campfire. It was either throw it or put it into my rucksack making all my other belongings smell. My sleeping bag I left with Reza as it was covered in dust, sand and mud. My blue adidas jacket has completely lost a pocket zip, seems to have shrunk a little and the other pocket zip seems to be playing up. All my other clothing seems to be okay currently; my black trousers still seem to be dusty.
Overheard today that England play the US this saturday so it will be interesting to see how that plays out. Whilst in Seattle, there was a whole load of MLS Seattle's team going to the game - is Soccer getting a stronger following in the US now?!
It's unlikely that I shall have access to a computer at my hotel in LA so this may be the last time you here from me on the net, so just in case, here goes: Thank-you for reading my blog and I hope you have enjoyed reading all my daily activities, as much as I have enjoyed living them. This tour has been a life changing experience and something that will live with me forever. It had mostly good moments, one sad moment and many funny moments; for me the most funny was when I unintentionally put the heating on rather than the A/C in a log cabin. Another funny moment was when this New Orleans person assumed that as Chris was English, he was a member of the SAS - Thomas, the American, was an Iraqi Veteran and was rescued by SAS soldiers; therefore, having huge respect for them calling them the most bad-ass (beep beep). Nice for an American to praise our Special Forces as the best! He provided us with some of his disturbing Iraq stories and immediately, had a dislike for Reza who was from New Jersey. Something about the difference in career opportunities.
Anyway, I have gone off track a bit (I put it down to putting memories down before they disappear). For one last time, thank-you
Love to you all & I shall see you in person in just a few more days, Jonathan
