So from the scenery of Airlie i travelled for 20 hours by bus to Brisbane. Luckily i managed to get quite a bit of sleep during the night so much so that we changed drivers twice and i dont remember either of them so must have been a good sleep.
Brisbane was to be very different to how i have visited other places as its all about who you know and i was lucky enough to have an old friend living in brisbane who agreed to play Tour Guide! Mike and i went to primary school together in St Helens a long time before Northampton and have kept in touch on and off ever since.
So it was over to mike to play tour guide for my stay in brisbane. Day 1 was spent going around The city which included a ferry ride on down the river.
Day 2 we travelled to Gold Coast which i was glad about having been recommended it, i hadnt planned to stop there for any length of time so was good to experience it for the day. During the day we visite a viewing platform which gives views approx 60kms in every direction and apparently has one of the fastest lifts ever! Had a great day although for something called Surfers Paradise there werent any waves at all so dont quite understand that one!
Day 3 was spent on the Sunshine Coast going back north from Brisbane first to visit a small Village for a market that is massive and has a really good variety of stalls... shame i havent got lots of money to spend! Then onto Noosa another beachside town but a little bit posher than Surfers and just as nice.
On day 4 an the final day in Brisbane we visited a Ranforest treetop walk which included a ladder climb up to the top of a very tall tree, offering views of the Ranforest Canopy... Very nice... unless your afraid of hights! The rainforest is located close to where they film Im a Celebrity. Oh and then we visited a very posh Marina (Luckily it was half price for food!!) saw some very impressive Boats with very impressive price Tags aswell!
So that was brisbane and surrounding areas, we certainly managed to fit in a lot in a short space of time but am certainly glad i did and i must say thanks to mike for playing tour guide especially on a tight budget i know your not used to that!
So now onto The penultimate stop of Australia to Byron Bay. This Travelling thing is going very Quick!
