Amsterdam was such a perfect stop off after the stressful and emotional last few days in the UK. Such a great place to chill and recharge our batteries before heading off into the unknown.
In untypical backpacker style we stayed in a fantastic 4 star hotel (being a mystery hotel meant that (a) it was a nice surprise to stay in such style, and (b) it was half the price than it would otherwise have been.
We didn't stray too far from the centre, dining on fries drowned in mayo and destressing in one of the city's great coffee shops.
Day 2 - being overly laid back we left it quite late and had to do a bit of queue jumping to get the shuttle into central station to get to the airport to catch our flight. Sorry Italian ladies, but our need was greater than yours!
My anxiety and annoyance about Aeroflot began at check in and continued throughout our journey. We only just made our connection in Moscow, after a sprint to the terminal....unfortunately our backpacks did not fare quite so well!
