Day 38 May 21

Ilertissen to Herbolzheim

Little to report here as its more or less straight forward. Left at 0830 and arrived at campsite, still in Germany at 1500. No motorways but a meandering trip across the southern farmlands towards Freiburg.

The only part of the drive to note occurred shortly before Freiburg. Having driven across relatively flat farmlands with only gentle undulations suddenly we are faced with a drop down a very steep sided valley. The road is quite wide but with many hairpin bends. What is interesting is that the railway also descends into the valley below so that must make for some journey.

Otherwise we sit at a really nice site just outside Freiburg . Tomorrow we head for Verdun and then its Calais.
