Woooooooooehhhhhhhh made it back alive from the camping trip on the River Murray. What a way out adventure. I was so scared apparantly you are within 20 meters of a snake at all times. I am not sure how the guys found this spot where we camped, what you see in the picture is what surrounded us with the nearest country town about 20k away. We were seriously in the outback. You can see where these movie makers get there ideas and inspiration when you see places like this exist. I was worried the blair witch would get us all in the night but was assured that it was totally safe. Be my fiend from work brought along her dogs, and we hooked up with about 20 of there buddies and friends friends, I only knew Be but by the end of the wknd knew everyones names and characters. There were no toilets and showers which was so scary when going to the loo it was a case of squatting and praying that a snake didn't get you or a spider didn't crawl and scuttle along :-) This was great fun though. We lit this massive bonfire the men went off in there utes and collected fire wood well come back with massive tree trunks and made the biggest fire ever and we all set round chatting into the wee hours, time flew by. I woke up in the night so cold I was shivering but then woke up a few hours later and had to get out the tent it was so hot and this was the hottest day I have ever experience in my whole life! We had a really chilled day and soaked up the ozzieness of kicking back, fishing, and just hanging out and getting to know the rea ozzy way of life. They are really lovely kind and v funny people. This one girl around the camp fire started signing this song which was hilarious and was doing all these funny dances and we played this 21 game which I am writing down as never wanna forget it! So we had proper ozzy barbies, one guy slept under the stars in his swag I stuck to being in the tent in case the snakes came in the night. Didn't get any pictures but we saw a big bunch of kangaroos on the way home and some had little baby joes in their pouches. I'll get some pics next time as they were so amazing. Saw lots of dead ones on the roads aswell they bounce across at the wrong time and smash through the windscreen they are massive animals so its pretty dangerous out in the bush. The stars at nighttime were stunning you could make out gemini, the spade and goat. The guys names were so ozzy there was a Jock, Matty, Nat, Erin all really short names and then sometimes when they spoke i could not understand a word there is slang for everything. Soo all in all it was wild west adventure. Have just got out of my 2 hours shower and the bath was black NICE so off to bed now and will be so nice to get in my comfy bed. Oh yeah forget that on the way home we went to Caseys house and there houses are so strange its like on a million trillion acres of land down a big dirt track and the house is all on one level so much space its incredible and they had horses and this hugh white dog it was pretty cool. It was pretty remote but you go in and there about 20 people there, they really know how to socialise and talk over here thats for sure! Bye bye for now love Jo x
