Following good news everyone!! My camera was found!! Zoe had it!! Yay!!
Following Paris we headed over to a massive wine region in France. We stayed the the chateau which was beautiful and had an amazing view. When I woke up in the morning I could see the view from my top bunk bed.
On arrival we got set up in the rooms then straight down to the pool it was so hot. Bring on the tan!! After a few pool antics we went for a wine tasting. This place has been making wine for 110 years. The wine was delicious and I bought a bottle to take up to our picnic we were having the following day.
On our return we sat on the grass beside the pool, all with a drink, and I thought it'd be good fun to play duck duck goose.... It was good fun and a few good stacks.
That night we had a CONTIKI themed party: "shock your mother" some very funny costumes. After we were danced out we went to sleep on the grass, before crawling to bed in the wee hours of the morning.
Today I was feeling quite ordinary and it's about the 3rd day I haven't had a voice. I have definitely done my fair share of talking. Apparently Ive already contracted the CONTIKI cough.
So today we are going up to the "top of the world" a 45 minute walk from the chateau. We had to carry our very heavy baskets which were heavier for those of us that took wine. Apparently there was going to a slight incline.... Slight was an understatement. I was sweating my but off when I got to the top. We had our picnic which was cheese, ham and bread so yummy. We did cartwheels and chatted to people from other groups. The view went for miles, we could see the alps - snow & all. a stunning day for a picnic!!
We called into the pub on the way back for a drink then we were pool bound for the afternoon. After a room party in #33 and a little game, we then had to get dosed up for our next theme party: "gender bender'. Another very funny night of girls dressing up boys and sleeping out on the grass to finish the night and watching the stars and having other CONTIKI groups come running over and playing 'stacks on' randomly. Suprisely there were not a heap of stars out.... It was weird because we were in the country side... Back home there are so many more stars.
The next day...
An early morning again. 7am breakfast and I'm feeling quite ill, not from drinking but from the CONTIKI cough thingy I've got. We were on the bus and leaving the chateau at 7.45am -BARCELONA BOUND!! (a 12 hour bus trip). we stopped at this Roman Bridge that was built in the first century. Amazing that its still standing. The river below was so clean, pebbles throughout and so refreshing.. Wish I had my bathers.
Anyway on with the bus trip. I'll fill you in on Spain when I get there!!!
Love love
