Just a quick update on my blog from yesterday... I was scammed even more than I thought. My "nice Thai man"... you remember, the soldier... was blatantly in on the plot to get me in that Tuk Tuk. I know this because on my return I was speaking to an English girl staying in my dorm who was spun almost exactly the same story (that very day) before being persuaded to get on a Tuk Tuk... only to go on pretty much the same magical mystery tour that I did...
It also says in my Lonely Planet guide book that this is a scam. A scam I'd read about before it happened to me!! It said you would be approached saying somewhere is closed... they then suggest a whole host of sites to go to... then you start getting dumped at shops. Why did I trust my military friend so much?! And I thought I was pretty sharp! Need to sharpen up my game... this part of the world appears to be scam central!
Today I'm chilling, it's too hot out there. Tomorrow I'm heading by bus/Tuk Tuk/taxi to Siem Reap in Cambodia. I've had enough of Bangkok. This journey is notorious for people trying to scam you apparently... needless to say after my experiences of yesterday I am going prepared. I have accumulated 3 pages of notes in my journal about what to do along every step of the way, what scams will be tried and how to avoid/react to them... so BRING IT ON!!!!
NB. For those of you that worry, i.e. Mum and Dad, when I say scam I mean these people are trying to fleece you out of very small amounts of money... you're never in any danger, they just try to get you to cough up for stuff you don't have too. That said, no doubt tomorrow's blog will recall a tale of woe of how I got set upon my a group of Cambodian midgets and all my posessions robbed!
Until next time...

Chris Hate to say i told you so....Miss ya xx
Mum Bangkok seems to have been a bit of a let down. Hopefully Cambodia will be better. Only one bit of advice, TRUST NO ONE. Yes we are worrying and sometimes reading the blog doesn't give you a true picture of what really happened, so bear in mind. Take care and stay safe, love you lots, mum xxxx
John Chris - you know the first place after Cape Town always gets a bad review! But I do miss it... Mum - don't worry. Whilst the blog is true it is written in a comedic (is that a word?) tone!
