Back in Phnom Pehn for a few nights, it's a long story but it revolves largely around an epic mission to get my iPhone repaired. Back to where I left off...
Tuesday - Fail day! Terrible birthday - crap weather and boring! Highlight was a Skype call with me family!
Wednesday - I went a day trip to Ream National Park. Involved a large amount of time in an uncomfortable ramshackle boat to get to a pretty nice white sand beach. Overall though, pretty standard stuff! It killed a day though...
Thursday - Lazy day around the beach. Went for an epic walk along Serendipity Beach. It's nice but it's not spectacular!
In summary, three pretty average days...
Friday - This was a good day. I went on a day trip to some of the islands offshore. Did some snorkelling, played some beach volleyball and hanged with some good blokes from Canada, South Africa and UK (most of which were travelling solo also). It was good fun for $15. When we got back the five of us headed straight to a bar on the beach where we stayed for some hours before heading for dinner. Eventually we separated for a couple of hours to shower with the plan of reconvening at 9.30 at a bar they gave out FREE vodka for an hour from 9.30pm... multiple vodka mixers consumed and got rather drunk. Got told by a told by a girl at the bar I looked like an Italian footballer... precisely - Zinedine Zidane... erm, shocking footballing knowledge on display there! Not only is he French but he's also bald... I may be many things but I am neither of these! Anyway it was a fun night with lots of drunken dancing, I don't remember too much but I woke up with an empty bag of Kettle Chips in the bin in my room...
Saturday - Lazy day at the beach with my Canadian mate, Vern. Not much happening, just reading and chilling at a beach front bar. Street kids trying to sell bracelets on multiple occasions... they now affectionately refer to me as 'Ladyboy' - little gits! In evening a bunch of us hung around in the guest hourse bar and watched the Premier League. West Ham were dismal... what's new?
Sunday - iPhone repair is meant to be done today but it's not. They need more time. Erm... but I am meant to be going to Vietnam tomorrow. Snap decision and I'm on a bus to Phnom Penh (it's nearer Vietnam and it's where the phone is being repaired...) I'll stay here until it's done. I try to check into the same hostel as this South African dude, Kevin, that I've met. It's full but no matter... they'll set me up a bed in the corridor for one night until there's space. I agree... it actually looks more comfortable than the dorm and I'm disappointed I can't continue sleeping there tonight! In the evening I head out for dinner and beers with Vern and Kevin. It's not a heavy night by any means... I'll just say this - there are some seriously weird bars in Asia!
Today - I've been mooching the city solo. It's actually one of the better cities I've seen so far. I'm about to collect the beloved iPhone... fingers crossed it's fixed like they say - I've missed that nifty piece of kit!
It's been a good few days and I don't feel quite so lonely anymore...
Over and out.

Mum Classic, the Zinedine Zidane made me laugh out loud, much needed smile. Sorry you had such a lousy birthday but glad to hear things are picking up a bit. Nice to hear that you're only waking up with an empty bag of Kettle Chips. Much Love, Mum xx
Dad Nice to hear about your adventures and that things are getting better...was it being without your Iphone that made you feel lonely? lol..West Ham no comment!! Take care, love Dad xx
Louise Are you sure the girl at the bar didn't actually mean Franck Ribery and not Zidane? LOL. And you thought you looked like Kaka!
