Things people forget to pack (or think about) .....help with saving you money on your mobile.
Despite the well known phrase "don't forget your toothbrush" the device remains one of the most forgotten items. Here are a few more: hairbrush, electric plug adaptor ( euro to uk plugs) passport and medical card (!?)
What are you going to do on the plane? Looking at Mr Green's copy of how it's made will only keep you entertained for so long!?
Technology will also be one extra area to think about. Despite advice to leave expensive phones at home, you may be taking a phone which uses 'data' - find out how to turn off 'data roaming' otherwise you could find yourself with an expensive bill on your return to the uk.
To my knowledge, gps is satellite based and so will not use mobile phone networks. However the maps that tell you where you are, use mobile networks, which use data, which you will be charged for.
"But it's being cut in price by the regulators ! " - yes but AFTER we are back in the UK. In short make sure you know how your mobile works.
