WoW!
Just had an amazing experience in around the mountains of Lake Issyk Kul. Spent 3 days living in a yurt at around 2000 metres with a local family there. The scenery was astounding! I had no idea Kyrgyzstan was this beautiful. So quiet, peaceful and stunning surroundings have been a superb finish to this trip!
Wanted to take a guide and go hiking, but the lady who owned the yurt let me take her horse, so i went riding with a guide for the day! Was brilliant! My horse was small but nimble and like a mountain goat up the steep hills. The views were brilliant (Issyk Kul is the worlds second biggest alpine lake) and we stopped at a couple of yurts along our trek. The first to watch a woman milk her horses (obviously we then drunk 4 or 5 cups of fresh horse milk - not for the weak pallat) and hung out with local families!
Was a brilliant time of relaxing, eating great local food (and lots more horse milk) and belvedere's. I cant decribe how beautiful this country is, but i will give it a nice compliment - its almost as good as new zealand. If it wasnt for every 4th or 5th man completely ruined on vodka at any time of the day or night it would be even better! But i suppose that adds to the character!
One more day left in Bishkek for some souvenir shopping and wodka shopping and i look forward to seeing most of you next week! thanks for following this blog! I have enjoyed your comments along the trip and look forward to boring you all with the same stories and photos all over again!
