Pago Pago is named American Somoa, it is reasonably developed, McDonald's and KFC but no Macy's. The people were friendly but we noticed that they weren't quite as handsome as those in Apia and they were all certainly a lot chubbier!
It was very hot and humid and our trip took us around the island to the viewing points and then to a high chief's reception where local folklore singing and dancing was performed. Stuart tried the cava cava, which he described as diluted paracetamol, it's supposed to come from the coconut leaves and be very calming, not sure it worked?
In the afternoon we spent the time browsing the very few shops by the port and Stuart had another lavalavas and tie for JB, before we headed back to the ship for our sailaway party, onwards to Fiji on Sunday, but we get there faster than we think because we don't get a Friday 11th February as we sail across the dateline, how weird is that?
