Curacao is a dutch island here in the Caribbean. The people are very proud of their heritage and were very friendly. They are neighbours to Aruba and Bonaire to make the ABC islands, we visited Aruba and Bonaire with Julie and Fred on our last cruise, so we have now made it to them all. Curacao is the prettiest, the buildings are all multicoloured and everywhere is neat and tidy.
Our tour guide called wawa, took us around the island, over the new bridge to the Hato Caves and then onto the Curacao liquor factory, the chocolate and rum raisin flavours were the best! We stopped at the Curacao Museum which has all rooms made up from the 1800's and dutch artefacts and bell carillion.
The pink flamingos and the iguanas were very colourful and cactus were plentiful.
In the town, the shops were modern and lots of jewellery and clothes. Stuart had his eyebrows shaved, with a cut throat raser at the barbers shop, (sweeney todds!).
Back on board, it was the Caribbean deck party after dinner, but the heat and humidity (really!) forced us back to the air conditioned nightclub.
We've set sail to Limon, Mexico for our train ride through the countryside on Friday and we'll call our UK folks then, the signal down here in the Caribbean is very poor.
