Well it's been a long time coming but we have eventually found a computer that we are able to use for free.. naughty that we are so we have decided to fill in our Cook Islands part..
We arrived in the Cook Islands early in the morning to the smallest airport that you will ever see in your life.. As soon as we got off the plane and stood on the tarmac the air hit us like a brick wall. Wonderful.. We knew that we were in for the holiday of our lifetime.. Little did we know that it is actually cyclone season.. pretty much the same as it sounds at home from the Newspaper we read this morning.. Newspaper well thats a laugh! Its about 6 pages in length and full of stories like when aliens are eventually going to visit our planet and how rampant the local dogs are at the mo!!! LOVELY!!!
We went straight to he beach after the polava of trying to change our room to a room that has a bathroom .. thats another story all together!! An expensive one at that..but during our second week we managed to get the cheaper room back that we were originally supposed to have!! nice one sara and John..Which is where we are now.. Soon to be leaving however.
Anyway back to the beach! On arrival we went straight down to the beach for a swim however what we forgot to do was put some of that most magical of inventions on 'the suncream'. Oh dear oh dear oh dear!! Did we pay for it or what! In fact by foot was so badly burnt (as some of you have now heard) that I ended up having to go to the only very basic hospital on the island to have it checked out as it had grown to three times the normal size and was seriously ready to burst right out of it's skin .. the joys.. The doctor really had no idea but said to come back if it grew any bigger!! Its fine now I may add.
Most of time in the cook Islands has been spent on teh beach or on the moped that we rented.. ITS OK MUM AND DAD!! WE WENT ABOUT 10 MILES AN HOUR AT ALL TIMES AND JOHN HAD TO DO A COOK ISLANDS BIKE TEST AND THEN HAD TO BE GIVEN THE LICENSE AT THE LOCAL POLICE STATION!! ACTUALLY THE ONLY POLICE STATION ON THE ISLAND!! the bike actually goes back tday but we have had a nice time exploring the island and it has been a very SAFE place to drive.. Apart from the falling coconuts and the rampant dogs!!
The snorkling has been lovely although John is scared of the fish and Sara had a hard time getting out of the boat!! but once conquered forever strong!! We are now apt South Pacific adventurers!! BRING ON FIJI!!
