Just to let all know that we have arrived safely.. We are now in Melbourne and we have hired a campervan for the three weeks that we are staying in OZ.. Will start to be a little better with the blogs when we have more access to internets.. Much love to all and thinking of you x
Hi we are back.. Well we had a great time in Melbourne.. We ended up staying with Rach ( my best friend) for about 10 days in the end as we decided to take a monumental step and book tickets to the Grand Prix. It was Fantastic Amazing Wonderful.. At least those were John's comments.. Rach and were having an absolutely wonderful time until suddenly this horrific noise started and lasted for a good hour and a half.. We had never heard anything like it.. actually Rach handled a bit better than I did.. John was revelling in it.. saying it was all part of the day! Which is was I guess but boy oh boy.. LLLOOOUUUUDDDD!!!! Before the big day.. (which I have no doubt John will add more information about in detail..) we had a lovely time visiting Phillip Island and going to the Penguine Parade which I have to say was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.. In the evening you go and sit on the beach ( with another 1500 people.. actually we paid a little bit extra for a small veiwing platform away from all the crowds and it was worth it for sure..) and sit and wait for Little Penguins ( the smallest in the world) to come out of the sea and go back to there burrows which are all around the viewing platforms.. Well.. what an amazing sight.. The first group of little penguins came out and there were about 30 of them.. the second group came out and there were about 300.. It was just magical... you can then walk along with them when they find their burrows and their life partners ( in which they leave for periods of time during the year).. When they eventually find their mate the sound is amazing.. it bought tears to my eyes.. SO BEAUTIFUL... I guess that's mother nature for you.. as we can see more and more as we travel along the path that we have chosen.
After Phillip Island we took a lovely ferry ride across Melbourne Port to meet up with Rach in her home town of Torquey which is at the start of the Great Ocean Road.. When on the ferry we had the most fortunate experience of having Bottle Nose Dolphins chasing the ferry and performing to the best of their ability!! It wa sreally an amazing amazing sight.. To see those beauties in there natural habitat was again a gift!! What lucky bunnies we are!!! We then met up with Rach and hd a very nice Prk Roast with Rach's parents stayed the night there and then continued on wioth Rach.. 3 in the Campa.. very cosy.. down the Great Ocean Road!! We stopped first at the famous kangaroo golf course which Andy would have loved and then on to Lorne and Appolo Bay where we stayed the night.. Drank copius amounts of beer and played s***head (card game) till the sun rose.. Not really ..we had a fairly early night.. after cards and beers.. We then returned to Melbourn. to Rach's for the GP and then on the 19th March we left for Sydney x
