hiya everyone. I've just got off the train today, and it's a massive releif in the end. % days on the train is enough to make anyone go slightly mad. But other than the length of time on the train i had a really good time. Got to take in the sites of Russia (lots of trees!) and got to klnow the people im travelling with. It's a real mixture of people. There are 4 girls from sweden who keep to themseleves mostly, 2 norweign girls, 2 belgium guys, 2 english girls and 2 english guys.
Although we haven't been able to see much form the tran, were exeprinced the mini ,markets that take place on the platform. Monglion traders carry coats, material, shoes, jeans, all soprts to sell on the platforms. And the loca babushcas (im sure ive spelt that wrong) who sel food and drinks from their carts. which made the food on the train sightly more varied as most of us brought food to save money by not going to the resua\rant car. which means lots of noodles! Yesterday we also passed the biggest lake in the world which is near the mongfolian border Lake Baikal. I think we were following it for around 2 hours on the train before we head on north east, and we still didn't see the other side!
I'm now in monglia and weve just been to a buddist temple, my first! where there were monks doing chants and one spetacular statue. Three stories high and made from copper, plated with gold and filled with money, herbs and furnature. Tomorrow were going out of the city about 60km to the country side to see the typical monglian way of life. We will be staying at a ger camp in a tradtional mogolian yurt (see photo) and we can go horse riding!
Then it's back on the train for 2 days (only the one night i think) to arrive in bejing were ive got a healthy 6 days so i'm hoping to explore the city with some of the guys from this trips and maybe some others who arrive there a few days later who i met in the hostel in moscow.
S so long for now and il catch up in bejing where ill hopfully also be able to upload some of my photos. Although being a bit silly i forgot my all singing all dancing adapter so im going to have to rely on other peoples adapters to charge my camera and phone. Or at least untill i can find one of my own.
