Went to the State Fair the past two nights. What a deal!!! On Wednesday night, saw Rick Springfield and on Thursday night we saw Sheryl Crow. Total cost for admission and parking $30 (that is $15 each night). We had a great time except that Ruth Ann ended up twisting her knee the second night going up a ramp into the coliseum. Been just going around town hitting all of the bigger thrift stores or consignment shops and taking in the beauty out here. The Gilbert-Chandler areas have been here awhile but much of it is all newer in the last 20 years. There is tons of shopping, restaurants, and things to do. Beginning to settled in. Finding the different places to go, church, restaurants, movies, and of course more thrift shops. I think Ruth Ann is on a first name basis with the workers in Big Lots (I could almost throw a stone from our place and hit it). We saw Matt Damon in "The Martian" and thought it was really good. The theater had 13 movies playing (so many decisions, how can one do it) and the one we went into could probably hold everyone in Centralia's AM...

We started to do things today besides shopping, especially since I was getting tired of the thrift stores and Ruth Ann just loves going through them. We went east into the mountains and went to Globe , Az where they were having an Indian festival called "Jii". We watched mainly the younger members of various tribes perform dances honoring different events. It was quite interesting. Well, after going out to eat yesterday and then going to 3 different WalMart SuperStores we still couldn't find the airbed that we wanted so this morning we were a little stiff from sleeping on the floor (but all we talked about on the way out was how the settlers made it through mountains and all).
