Hi Joe - glad to hear you are having such a wonderful time and I hope you will be able to get a lot more in in the next week before you come home
Nick
Hey Big Guy (Joe),
I'm very impressed with your blogs, and pleasantly surprised by your interest in old Thai ruins! I would have thought endless trips to French food markets, churches etc would have put you off cultural places for life.
The beach party's sound pretty cool, a million miles from rainy Manchester! We should see if they are staging any next summer at La Tranche Sur Mer or any of the other exotic Vendeen Beaches!
We had Ali round for a meal last week and having gone for a drinks beforehand she made as much sense as you do in some of these blogs! Enjoy the rest of your trip m8 and ill see you when you get back.
p.s: Instead of relaxing on beautiful Thai beaches i'll be sleeping on old Eastern Bloc trains for a month. I'm now wondering why?
Take care bud
Mum
I'm really sorry to hear that Johnny's coming home so soon. what's not to like about spending a week dodging people trying to set fire to you? perhaps the three of you could have gone somewhere more relaxing!
Be careful when you're diving. It's probably not the sharks that you need worry about but the drunken jet-skiers. Don't get the bends.
You'll be home yourself in a week and I'm looking forward to that. Please remind me about what date and time I need to be at the airport to pick you up. Will Ben want a lift too? He's very welcome (although I seem to recall that he lives a long way away!). If Zoe wants a lift to the airport to meet you, that's no problem.
make the most of your last week.
Janet
Hello Jo. It was good to catch up with your blog when we got back from holiday. We spent a week narrow boating from Doncaster to Retford. Very pleasant but embarrassingly unadventurous in comparison to what the rest of the family are doing. Ali stayed last night and showed us her 600 photos of Brisbane and the Solomon Islands so I am regretting the lack of photos on your blog less than I might. Nick is about to book his interrail ticket. Four weeks on trains followed by a week in Nice with Ryan's rich friend. They are both working at a local pub to pay for it. The fruit picking your mother referred to is actually loading flowers into Tesco lorries but that's been put off for a few weeks.
Keep up with the posts.
Lots of love, Janet xxx

Dearest Joe,
Hope that Johnny and Ben have arrived safely and joined you now. I would worry about the three of you drinking too much, but it doesn't sound like you've been exactly stinting yourself alone, so hopefully you won't overdo it. Try hard not to get so drunk again that you can't tell the difference between me and Nicky and swear at inoffensive paramedics.
Your jungle trek sounds fantastic. I hope that you've got lots of photos - tho happy for you to leave the leeches where they belong. How is the Tesco Value rucksack holding up to it all?
love Mumxxx

Dearest Joe,
Sounds good news from Johnny and Ben - Johnny, you can stop avoiding me now - I WAS annoyed with you, but have got over it! Hope that you and Ben have a good flight over and meet up with Joe safely.
Been planning Nain and Taid's diamond wedding party on Saturday 9 August - put it into your diary now. They've invited the entire village through the parish newsletter so might get a lot of visitors. Trying hard to persuade them to have it all at home, but they worry about space (and having to tidy up I suspect!). they've given me £60 for you, so you can splash out literally and metaphorically when you're at the Islands.
hope that the jungle trekking was good.
Why no news from Zoe?? Hope she's got back from Newquay safely and is OK.
Much love,
Mum xx
