The Story so far..............
our travel adventures have so far taken us to the very cosmapolitan City of singapore. Visiting Sentosa island, The Raffles Hotel, The singapore flyer and The Grand Prix site.
Then onto western Australia to Perth, Mandurah, The Swan Valley. Western Oz was nice, but the weather not hot enough for our liking, and not alot to do outside of the major city.
our next flight took us across to the Northern Territory, the Outback to see the big red rock and The Olgas. The rock and Olgas are amazing, but unfortunately the weather was not good. It rained for the entire time! but nevermind, its still breath taking. No sign of snakes and Roos.
From the desert, we were supposed to have flown to Brisbane, but our flight was cancelled due to flooding in Alice Springs, so we had a think and decided to fly to cairns, which is tropical north queensland. Cairns is beautiful, a great combination of scenery, from Rainforest, the mountains of the dividing range, and a lovely city centre, with a free swimming pool looking over the ocean.
We have now started the 2000 km road trip down from Cairns to Brisbane. So far stopping at Trinity beach, Mission Beach, Townsville, Airlie Beach, The whitsunday Islands and the great barrier reef.
Onto Yepoon next which is on the Capricorn Coast, then to Hervey Bay.
We have both fallen in love with Australia again....and we think Bill Bryson sums up why...
"The people are cheerful, extrovert, quick witted and unfailingly obliging, their cities are safe and clean and nearly always built on water, the food is excellent, the beer is cold, and the sun nearly always shines. Life doesnt get much better than this"
